IT’S SHOWTIME! Getting Your Work Ready to
Show and Photographing It
presented by Mary Schwartz and Mary Alice Favro
All shows require you to provide photographs of
your work. You want your work to look as good in your
pictures as it does in your hands and you want your pictures
to be a fair representation of your work.
What do you want to show? What do judges want to see?
This workshop will cover tips on taking pictures, how to
make an inexpensive light box or other simple set up for
photographing textiles, what judges look for, do’s and
don’ts of photographing for show, and avoiding common
problems. There will be a handout of resources.
We will also discuss the requirements pieces must meet to be
accepted in the New England Weavers Seminar Show, what the
categories are for awards, other information pertinent to
this year’s Guild Show.
